Dave Meltzer in Hot Water After Recent Remarks on Peyton Royce

WWE Superstars come to the defense of Peyton after Dave rips on Peyton's weight.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recent went off on Peyton Royce while talking to Bryan Alvarez on his podcast. While criticizing their inability to get over, Dave ripped Royce on her promo skills, wrestling ability, and above all else, her appearance...

“I thought they had a cool act in NXT and on the main roster, I don’t get a thing out of them,” Meltzer said. “I think Peyton Royce’s transformation to look more attractive, I don’t know, I don’t want to say…”

“She was more attractive in NXT?” Bryan Alvarez asked.

“I thought so, yes, to me yes,” Meltzer answered. “She doesn’t stand out to me; when she was in NXT she did. She was a lot lighter.”

Royce immediately shot back with the following response on Twitter:

"So what would you have me do Dave... starve myself? This is how nightmares for young women start. The females in your life must be proud."

More wrestling personalities jumped in to defend Royce.

And of course, from her Iconic partner, Billie Kay:

"This is unacceptable on so many levels. How dare you say that someone is more attractive when they are ‘lighter’. You have no idea how stupid comments like this can affect someone for life.@PeytonRoyceWWE is PERFECT just the way she is. A strong & beautiful WOMAN!"

In my opinion, this is disgraceful. The Iconics aren't getting over in WWE because they haven't been put in that position. Since being called up, the duo have been booked as enhancement to advance the storyline and tension between Charlotte and Becky before SummerSlam.

Since the outpour of support for Peyton, Dave has issued several apologies on Twitter.
